A 28-year-old Liberian woman, Anigar monso has been sentenced to 7 years in prison for animal cruelty and torture.
The woman who is a mother to a 7 year old , frequently went live on TikTok, playing with animals like frogs, lizards, and rabbits.
She she would go on to kill, cook, and eat the animals live on camera.
The disturbing footage caught the attention of viewers who reported her account.
The videos were eventually reported to authorities, leading to Anigar’s arrest.
Given the U.S.’s strict animal protection laws, the punishment came swiftly—resulting in a 7 year sentence.
When questioned about her actions, Anigar admitted that she did it for likes and views.
The case gained traction on social media, and Eddie Bliss; a news carrier and commentator on the app shed more light on the situation
She noted that the woman didn’t really know that doing something that would lead to such grave punishment .
She used the opportunity to urge content creators to be mindful of the extreme lengths they go for online popularity.
