Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has initiated a comprehensive digitization of doctoral dissertations and theses from its School of Postgraduate Studies in a bid to boost accessibility and global reach of its academic output.
The announcement was made by the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, during a dinner event hosted in Abuja by the 2023/2024 Ph.D cohort from the Department of Business Administration.
Professor Liman, who holds fellowships from UNESCO, ACLS, and FIIP, emphasized that the move is designed to enhance the international visibility of research conducted at NSUK.
She underlined the critical role of originality in scholarly work, urging doctoral candidates to maintain academic integrity and produce research that addresses national challenges and drives societal advancement.
She also commended the students for their donation of a solar power unit to the department, encouraging them to continue acquiring practical skills, pursue innovation, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
In his remarks, Dr. Ahmed Abdullahi Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Business Administration, lauded the class as trailblazers, urging them to stay focused and committed to their academic journey.
A key moment of the evening was a lecture delivered by Professor Andrew Zamani, a renowned Clinical Psychologist and Director of the Institute of Governance and Development Studies at NSUK. His presentation, titled “21st Century Ph.D Holder: Capabilities, Expectations, and Deliverables,” offered deep insights into the evolving role of doctoral scholars in modern society.
